Hey y’all! My name is Nena Hale. I am a girly tomboy from South Texas. I have a true passion for the outdoors! I am a free-lance artist that specializes in game fish. I also design clothing for a women’s line of fishing apparel called Pink Marlin. My inspiration for my artwork comes from being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. My love for hunting and interest in animals took me to the path of taxidermy a few years ago. I used to do taxidermy for a local shop, but I keep it to a hobby these days.
Duck hunting is my first love, but I also enjoy and take part in hunting whitetail deer, hogs, free roaming exotics, dove, quail, rabbits, and predators. I feel as being an outdoors woman, it is extremely important to help support your local conservation groups. I am a proud supporter of The Ducks Unlimited chapter in Corpus Christi, Texas. I donate art for their auctions to help raise money for their projects. I think without research and conservation, hunting could become nonexistent.
When I’m not hunting and fishing, you can find me on the range shooting my guns or on the beach with my dogs. I have four dogs in my family, among several other pets. They are my four legged children with fleas! Dogs make me happy and mine are my best friends! Being a dog lover makes belonging to Marsh Mutt’s pro-staff so much fun! I don’t know who was more excited about the position, me or my dogs!!!
No matter what kind of hunting or fishing you choose, I think it is something the whole family should enjoy together. Being a huntress has led me to Queens of Camo. Queens of Camo is a television series that follows passionate huntresses on their hunting expeditions. The show focuses on the importance of educating the public on the unique issues surrounding women who hunt. I am one of the Queens of Camo. You can read my hunting stories on my blogs. For all you hunters that enjoy social media, I also share pics and stories on Twitter, Facebook, and of course the MarshMutt forum!. Happy hunting y’all
